Rupert is a Grade 12 student at St. George’s Senior School who loves watching late-night movies. He fell in love with film after accidentally joining a film production course in Grade 10. Rain City Reels has been a big part of his life, and he has watched the events over the years, not knowing that one day he would continue it. As Co-Director of Rain City Reels Film Festival, he is determined to make this year better than the last. Rupert is deeply interested in cinematography and wants to express his vision creatively. In his final year of high school, Rupert wants to make as many projects as possible and give others storytelling opportunities.

Tom Wang is a student filmmaker based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He discovered his passion for filmmaking after attending his school's Rain City Reels film festival in Grade 9. Inspired by the creativity of the student films, he began creating his own and has loved the process ever since. Tom has written, directed, and edited numerous short films. While cinematography and editing are his favourite parts of filmmaking, he enjoys every aspect of the process, including convincing his actors that "one more take" really is just one more take. He currently serves as Co-Director of the Rain City Reels Film Festival, helping introduce young filmmakers to the festival experience. Tom believes the best films are the ones that leave you staring at the credits long after the story ends. He hopes to continue making films with his friends while growing as a filmmaker and storyteller.

Tim is passionate about visual storytelling and believes great stories have the power to bring people together. He enjoys exploring photography, filmmaking, and digital media as creative outlets, and is always looking for new ways to turn ideas into engaging experiences. As Director of Marketing for the 2026 Rain City Reels Film Festival, Tim is excited to help amplify the voices of young filmmakers and celebrate the creativity of the next generation. Outside of his creative work, he enjoys playing piano, badminton, and discovering new perspectives through travel and everyday experiences.

As a Grade 12 student at St. George’s Senior School, Vincent is thrilled to be serving as Director of Logistics for Rain City Reels. His love for film started small, editing videos for a YouTube channel just for fun, and that curiosity about how a story comes together behind the scenes eventually pulled him toward filmmaking itself. Working on Rain City Reels has let him bring that early passion together with a newfound love for logistics and bringing events to life. Outside of the festival, Vincent can be found playing badminton, exploring Vancouver with friends, and getting lost in a good book or manga series. He can’t wait to see what this year’s filmmakers bring to the screen.
